recruiting

Each twirler is carefully selected based upon ability, personality, and attitude. The desire to pursue a college degree and education is most important. All members graduate with degrees. To be admitted to The University of Arizona, you must meet one of these four requirements: (1) have a 3.0 GPA, (2) be in the top 25 percent of your class, (3) have a 1010 SAT score, or (4) have a 24 ACT score.

Accentuation is on education, twirling, and enjoyment. The work is hard, the rewards are great. If you are interested in our program, you will need to submit the following information:

  1. Your full name, address, phone number, and birth date.
  2. Your high school GPA and your class standing.
  3. The high school from which you will be graduating.
  4. Twirling accomplishments. Please list in chronological order.
  5. A VCR video cassette of your twirling or a trip to Tucson when necessary.
  6. A full-length photo of you in your uniform, and a full face photo.
  7. A hand-written note of the field of academics you're interested in, your hobbies, and anything else you wish to share about yourself.
  8. A letter of recommendation from someone outside your family who knows you best (example: twirling teacher).

If you are accepted to the program, the following is necessary:

  1. A form letter of intent to accept a position on the twirling team with rules of conduct mailed to your parent(s) or guardian for signature which will be mailed back to me immediately.
  2. A letter from your parent(s) or guardian to allow permission for travel in the United States and abroad.
  3. A note from parent(s) or guardian that you can financially attend The University of Arizona.
  4. Your measurements including shoe size, blouse, shorts, warm-ups, baton size (length).

You must be accepted to the University before you are accepted to the team.

If you have any further questions, please contact Shirlee Bertolini.
