about the Twirling Line

The U of A Twirling Line performs with the "Pride of Arizona" Marching Band at every home football game for the pre-game and halftime shows. At this time, the team performs as one unit. The twirlers are featured during both the pre-game and halftime shows. The "Pride of Arizona" has very unique performances and is known for being "the world's first alternative music marching band."

At the University of Arizona basketball games, twirlers perform individually, in small groups, and as a halftime team. The U of A's basketball team is one of the best in the nation and every home game is sold out. This allows the twirling team to shine in front of thousands of people. It is truly a fun and exciting experience. In the Spring, the twirlers are given the opportunity to travel with the pep band and cheerleaders to some of the basketball tournaments throughout the season. These include the Pac-10 tournament and the NCAA championships.

The twirlers are also involved in many community events including service activities for Casa de los Ninos (a shelter for abused children), the Tucson Rodeo Parade, high school outreach performances, and other charity events around Tucson. Many of the twirlers have also taken jobs as twirling coaches for the twirlers at the high schools around Tucson.

The University of Arizona has one of the best and most unique twirling teams in the nation, with a long tradition of excellence rooted deep in the heart of the Arizona Athletic Bands heritage. Each twirler is expected to be able to perform many difficult tricks and twirl multiple batons. The team practices hard and all team members expect excellence for themselves and their teammates. The University of Arizona Twirling Line is a group of disciplined, hard-working, and intelligent individuals. For more information, please feel free to contact us.
