CFA Wireless Network Access

CFA Faculty, Staff, Academic Professionals, and Administrators: Contact Cynthia or Joe for assistance connecting your office computer or laptop to the wireless network.

CFA Students: The College of Fine Arts offers limited wireless access to CFA students. Our current coverage area includes spaces in all buildings of the Fine Arts Complex except the Music Building (Art Building, Drama Building, and the Marroney Theatre/Fine Arts Oasis). CFA students are welcomed and invited to take advantage of this service while in these locations.

The College of Fine Arts supports a limited number of operating systems, and as such, if you are attempting to access the wireless network with an OS not listed below, there will be no assistance available.

Supported Operating Systems

Note: Windows XP Home is NOT supported and will not work.

Walkthroughs are provided below for the most common operating systems. However, for computers not owned by the University, we are unable to provide any further technical support. You must be able to troubleshoot your configuration yourself. You may also contact the CCIT Helpdesk at 621-HELP(4357) for most questions that are not related to the CFA Wireless network specifically, and the ILC Helpdesk also provides documentation for configuring your machine to access a wireless network.

Listed below are relevant links for configuring your computer for wireless network access. Please refer to these documents before seeking other means of support, as most common questions are addressed within them. You will also need to follow the listed link to request the wireless password (WEP key) for our network. You will only be required to enter your NetID and, after our system verifies your status as a student in the College of Fine Arts, you will be e-mailed the key.

The CFA Wireless Network is an extension of the CCIT campus network and is governed by the same policies as all other network access on the UA Campus. You are expected, for instance, to keep your computer virus-free and refrain from any illegal peer-to-peer file sharing or you run the risk of losing network access.

General steps to follow for all systems:
