Classes

The University of Arizona String Project is an outreach program designed to inspire and foster the creativity of young musicians. The different options for participation are as folllows:

Ensembles
Each week, students participating in the U of A String Project will take part in one group rehearsal/lesson per week which will meet either/both Monday or Thursday afternoon, plus one private lesson at a mutually convenient time for the student, parents, and teacher.

Private Lessons
Each week, students will receive a thirty-minute private lesson from a University of Arizona string performance or string education major, graduate or undergraduate. Lessons take place at a mutually convenient time for the student, parents, and teacher on the University of Arizona campus in the School of Music building.

Fees

Primo I, Primo II, and Petite Ensemble
Classes/Lessons:
30 Min Lesson and 2 Classes per week $175.50 semester/ $247.50 year
45 Min Lesson $224.25 semester/$296.25 full year 60 Mins $273.00 semester/ $468.00 full year

Classes Only:
$78.00 per semester     $150 full year

Ensemble Concertino and Ensemble Grandioso One Class/Lesson:
30 Min Lesson and Class a week $136.50/$250 full year
45 Mins $185.50/$350 full year
60 Mins $234.00/$450 full year

 

Enrollment Dates for Classes:

Fall 2008 Semester:
Classes begin: September 11

Spring 2008 Semester:
Classes begin: January 26

 

AUDITIONED ENSEMBLE REQUIREMENTS

Ensemble Concertino:
Sight-read music of Grade Level 1.
Play 1-octave scales in the following major keys: C, G, D, F
Play a solo from Suzuki Book 1, or equivalent source.

Ensemble Grandioso:
Sight-read music of Grade Level 2.
Play 1-octave scales in the following major keys: A, B-flat, E-flat
Play a solo from Suzuki Book 2, or equivalent source.
