Masterclass with renowned conductor Enrique Batiz

Renowned Mexican conductor Enrique Batiz will offer a masterclass with the
Arizona Symphony Orchestra next Friday, January 26 from 2:00 to 4:00 in Room
170. He will work with graduate conductors and soloists preparing for this
year?s President's Concert. The masterclass is open to the public and free
of charge. An opportunity to meet with Maestro Batiz will follow at 4:00 in
the green room. Refreshments will be served.

Maestro Batiz's class is offered in collaboration with the Catalina Chamber
Orchestra, which he will lead in a concert with UA faculty soloists flutist
Brian Luce and harpist Carrol McLaughlin, on Sunday, January 28 at 3:00 at the
Berger Center for the Performing Arts Center, 1200 West Speedway. Tickets for
this event are $45, $36, and $28 (senior and student discounts available).

Enrique Batiz is one of the most famous orchestra conductors in Latin America
and a gifted artist who has won international popularity and fame. Since 1984,
he has been a permanent guest conductor of the London Royal Philharmonic
Orchestra, and as a special guest, he has lead more than 200 orchestras around
the world.
