The Symphonic Choir is a select ensemble of 46 voices that carries on a fifty-year tradition of excellence in choral music at The University of Arizona. The group rehearses each week-day and performs formal concerts on campus, in the Tucson metropolitan area and throughout Arizona. Students represent a broad variety of disciplines including vocal performance, composition and music education as well as business, political science, finance, engineering, theater and sciences. Repertoire embraces music from a variety of cultural traditions and from every historical period up to and including new works commissioned especially for the choir. Symphonic Choir is under the direction of Dr. Elizabeth Schauer, Associate Director of Choral Activities.
