The string area represents the School and the University at conferences and festivals in a variety of prestigious venues with internationally recognized student ensembles and soloists. Outreach programs such as the annual String Festival, encourages string musicians to experience the vibrant excitement of musical life.
Our alumni have found positions in major symphonies and regional orchestras throughout the nation, as well as in prestigious colleges and universities. In addition, many students who graduate from our Music Education program and the String Institute are immediately hired as string teachers in public schools.
