The School of Media Arts Producing Colloquium presents Michael Speier, executive editor, news for "Daily Variety."

Speier previously held the position of special reports managing editor and spent five years as editor of the Gotham edition and co-TV critic. Speier, who joined "Variety" in 1997 as senior editor of specials, is a 1991 graduate of Syracuse University and has a master of arts degree from the University of North Texas.
