How to Apply: Graduate Students

School of Media Arts Entrance Requirements

Application for admission to the School of Media Arts must be made with the application forms available below at School of Media Arts Application Packet Forms. An applicant must have completed an undergraduate degree, preferably, with courses in film and television. If an applicant's undergraduate work is considered deficient for advanced work, additional work will be required at the undergraduate level for undergraduate credit. Deficiencies must be satisfied by the completion of prescribed courses prior to or concurrent with the first graduate courses. Accepted applicants are recommended to the Graduate College. Graduate College must accept the applicant in order to be enrolled in the Media Arts Master of Arts program. Domestic graduate applicants in Media Arts must take the GRE. Official GRE scores need to be sent to Institution Code: 4832 and Department code: 4505. International students must take the TOEFL and GRE.

Media Arts does not admit students for the spring semester.

School of Media Arts Application

The School of Media Arts application includes:

• School of Media Arts Graduate Admission Application
• Two (2) official transcripts of credits earned form all colleges and universities attended
• Personal Statement
• Three (3) Letters of Recommendation and Graduate Study Forms
• A copy of a writing sample from any course (not necessarily a media course)
• Graduate Teaching Assistantship Application, if applying for a teaching assistantship
• All scores (GRE and TOEFL) will be sent from the testing institution to Graduate College; however, you may send copies with your packet to the School of Media Arts.
