Dr. Edward Ackerley is a principal at Ackerley Advertising in Tucson. Established in 1968, the company assists local and regional clients with advertising, marketing, public relations, promotions and management. Ackerley is a recipient of the American Advertising Federation’s Silver Medal Award, and was the AAF Chairman of the Council of Governors. He also was a two term past president of the Tucson Advertising Federation and was named Advertising Professional of the Year in 1985 and Advertising Hall of Fame in 1987. Ackerley teaches at the University of Arizona in the Media Arts Department and the Eller College of Management in the Marketing Department. He is the faculty adviser for the University of Arizona Advertising Federation (Studio 320) and advises students participating in the American Advertising Federation National Student Advertising Competition. His book entitled “CreatingMAGIC” offers a collection of stories and insights into how Creativity can enhance a person’s life. He obtained his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona and both his Masters and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
