NOW: Professor Sarah Moore
Sarah Moore, Associate Professor of Art History, received an Outstanding Faculty Award, for excellence in teaching, from the Honors College in April 2007. Moore, who teaches American and European Art, 19th to 20th-century, and specializes in turn of the twentieth century American art, was one of six recipients on campus to be honored for her dedication to her life as an educator and scholar. Moore’s courses are designed to, “stimulate critical thinking, to encourage students to be proactive in their education, to provide an environment that is challenging but accessible and responsive to students’ needs and levels of preparedness, and to provide an example of professionalism and genuine passion for intellectual inquiry”. Her book, John White Alexander and the Construction of National Identity: Cosmopolitan American Art, 1880-1915, was published by the University of Delaware Press in 2003.
