School of Art Newsletter Fall 07 vol. 2 issue 1

NOW: Samuel Laggren

Samuel Laggren is a student in Visual Communications, specializing in Illustration, though his interests don’t stop there. After inspiration from a sequential art course this summer, Laggren is exploring how to expand his portfolio by producing small, six-page comic stories under self-assigned time constraints. His goal is to amass six mini-books to enter and sell in the Small Press Expo in Bethesda, MA. Though much of his work can be viewed through the School of Art’s ePortfolio, Laggren is also developing a personal website. He is seeking to display his work to a larger audience to gain a boost in the commercial art industry. Laggren is the recipient of the 2007-08 Samuel Kingan Scholarship.
