Sponsoring Company
The School of Media Arts manages an active internship program placing students in local, regional, and national organizations. Any organization wishing to sponsor an intern must:
1. Prepare a Job Description for each intern position desired.
2. Assign a full-time media professional as the Internship Supervisor
3. Train the intern, and
4. Evaluate the intern upon completion of the internship.
Internship Description
Prepare a description for each different internship position offered. Submit the description via company email to the Director of Internships in Media Arts, mbharalo@u.arizona.edu.
Internship descriptions need the following information: title of intern position; description of intern responsibilities; hours expected per week; skill levels or qualifications required.
Once approved for Media Arts internship credit, the internship description will be posted to the Media Arts student listserv.
Internship Supervisor Responsibilities
Interview prospective interns and select the best qualified for the internship.
Sign the Internship Contract. The intern will provide the Internship Contract. As soon as the completed contract is delivered to the Director of Internships in the School of Media Arts, the internship may begin.
In the Contract, the Internship Supervisor agrees to the following terms:
1. Schedule work for the intern.
2. Train the intern in lieu of pay.
3. Supervise the intern’s work.
4. Evaluate the intern’s performance. At the end of the internship, write a letter evaluating the intern and complete a Grade Report. The intern will provide the form for the Grade Report.
