Course description

M AR 493 is the course through which academic credit for the internship is granted.

Students must be enrolled in M AR 493 during the time period of the internship contract and be registered for the appropriate number of units.

Credit is variable, 1-6 units.

The Media Arts Director of Internships must approve enrollment in M AR 493.

A signed and completed Internship Application and Agreement, Internship Contract and Waiver (with original signatures) is required before a student can be enrolled in M AR 493.

Students with a M AR 493 grade of Incomplete, C, D or E are not eligible for another internship.

Intern Responsibilities

All internship materials are expected to meet standards for professionalism:  submission on time, complete and accurate, prepared well.

Before the Internship
Complete and submit to Media Arts:  application, internship description, waiver, and contract.

During the Internship
For each day of the internship, record the date and number of hours at the internship.  Carry forward the total number of hours with each entry, to create a cumulative record of the internship.

On the 1st day of each month of the internship, submit the Report of Internship Hours & Description of Activities to the appropriate drop box on the M AR 493 D2L site.

After the Internship

Resume
After the internship is completed, post on D2L, an updated resume that includes the internship.

Grade Recommendation and Letter of Evaluation
During the last week of the internship, remind the Supervisor that a Letter of Evaluation and Internship Grade Recommendation are due.

The Internship Grade Recommendation asks the Supervisor to verify the internship is completed and to recommend a grade for the internship.

Information about the Media Arts Internship Grade Recommendation, with instructions, is available on the Internship Forms page of the School of Media Arts website.

The Grade Recommendation and Letter of Evaluation may be submitted to the Media Arts Internship Program via company email to Enedina Cervantes at enedina@email.arizona.edu.

SUMMER: For Summer internships, materials are due no later than the first day of class of the Fall semester, unless the internship contract extends beyond that date.
