Fine Arts Technology

Technology is critically engaged across all units of the College of Fine Arts — Music, Dance, Media Arts, Art and Theatre Arts. Faculty and students create artistic works using digital arts technology including sound and music, still and moving images, 3D models and objects, robotics and interactive and immersive media. Faculty also develop new media courseware while CFA professional staff perform much of their work using digital technologies. Fine Arts Technology is a CFA Administrative unit that supports this work through assistance with new media and software production, course and program support and facilities, hardware, software and network support. Our mission is to:

  • Encourage the relevance of technology for teaching, learning and creative expression.
  • Deliver technology services critical to the success of each unit.
  • Develop and implement new tools and methods that significantly improve academic programs, productivity and student satisfaction.
  • Expand and improve internal and external communications opportunities through technology.
