Summer Camp Information - 2009
Summer Camps are open to anyone who seriously intends to audition for The University of Arizona Drumline for the following Fall season. All those who are interested are invited to attend. High school seniors are encouraged to attend!
The camps will cover how we do things at the UA and why we do them. Starting from the fundamentals of drumming to the UA's approach to playing marching percussion; the camps serve to better prepare you, and thereby increasing your chances, for a successful audition for the UA Drumline. The camps are open to all. Music majors, non-music majors, math majors, business majors, non-majors, high school seniors, even people who have never drummed before are welcome!
There are only two requirements for being eligible for the camps:
- You can read basic rhythms (emphasis on 16th note based rhythms)
- You are serious about and will be auditioning for the UA Drumline for the upcoming Fall 2009 season
Non-returning members of the 2008 UA Drumline are not eligible to attend as per requirement #2.
