About Auditions

Typically, the UA Drumline consists of 7-9 snares 4-5 tenors, 6 basses, and 8-12 cymbals. Members of the line must be current students enrolled at The University of Arizona. We audition all members (even returning members) the first day of Drum Camp which usually occurs 1 week before Band Camp. The full Band Camp starts about 1 week prior to the first day of Fall classes. Students who audition for the drumline are not necessarily guaranteed a spot on the line. Instrumentation is based on ability -- not availability. Auditioning members who do not meet the expectations of the staff (including, but not limited to: talent, attitude, work-ethic, etc.) are dismissed from the line.

 

Fall 2007 Audition Information

Auditions for the 2007 UA Drumline will take place on Monday, August 6, 2007. If you are interested in becoming a member, please read the following information carefully:

 

  1. All prospective and returning members must complete the "Pride of Arizona" Online Registration Form located at web.cfa.arizona.edu/uabands/athletic/registration.php prior to auditions. Be sure to provide a valid email address that you check on a regular basis.
  2. Once you are registered, return to this page to DOWNLOAD THE AUDITION PACKET.
    (NOTE: It is absolutely imperative that you complete the Online Registration Form before attending auditions. ANYONE not registered by August 6th will be dismissed from the line.)
  3. Note that if you make the line, you will be responsible for adhereing to everything on the schedule for the upcoming season. Please take a moment to view it and clear yourself of conflicts ahead of time. Also, the schedule is always subject to change. Please check it regularly for updates. (The 2007 schedule will be updated soon. Please check back later).
  4. If you have any questions, please refer to the Message Board for the current list of Frequently Asked Questions. You may also submit additional questions, and join in discussions with other visitors and veteran UA Drumline members.
