2002 - "I Love All of You"

Californication

Background

In 1996, The Pride of Arizona performed the music of the Red Hot Chili Peppers as the theme for their main half-time show. Based on songs from the multi-platinum album Blood Sugar Sex Magic, the show dubbed The Pride as the "World's First Alternative Music Marching Band." With innovative drill designs and complex musical arrangements by then second-year director Jay C. Rees, The Pride set a new standard in the art of college marching band. Since then, the band has gone on to perform ground-breaking shows featuring bold, daring arrangements of Pink Floyd, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Who, Danny Elfman, and Crosby Stills Nash & Young.

Now in his eighth year as director, Rees and the 2002 Pride of Arizona aim to out-do themselves for this 100th year of Arizona Bands. Based on music from the Grammy Award winning album Californication, "The Return of the Red Hot Chili Peppers" features Rees' most amazing musical and drill arrangements to date.
