Facilities

The School of Theatre Arts is housed within a larger arts complex including the School of Art, University of Arizona Art Museum, School of Architecture, Center for Creative Photography and School of Music. This is the Arts Oasis of the University of Arizona.

The Marroney Theatre and The Tornabene Theatre are the School of Theatre Arts two major performance facilities. They are vastly different in form from each other, but comparable in audience size and scope of performance. We are fortunate to have two theatres, different but equal.

The Tornabene Theatre is a 5-sided flexible performance space. It has a full compliment of modular seating units allowing for an audience of up to 350 spectators. It has a tension-wire grid, dedicated lighting inventory and trap room.

The Marroney Theatre is a 340-spectator proscenium theatre. It has a full fly-loft, dedicated lighting inventory, trap capabilities and three control booths. It is connected directly to the scenic shop.

The Directing Studio serves as a third performance space for workshop-level productions. This is a 60 to 70 seat flexible performance space with a dedicated seating system and lighting and sound equipment.

Production Facilities at the School of Theatre Arts include:

Costume Shop, Design Studio, Lighting Lab, Lighting Maintenance Shop AKA Cage, Paint Shop, Production Management Area, Properties Shop, Scenic Shop, and Sound Studio
