| Elizabeth
Garber's (Professor of
Art, University of Arizona) research and teaching is focused on how art
can be a part of and change the way we live. Her research within this area
is concentrated in the areas of feminist and cultural theory; craft, and
public and community arts. She has published in anthologies, regional arts
magazines, and journals such as Studies in Art Education, Journal of
Art and Design Education,Journal of Social Theory in Art Education,
and Journal of Multi-cultural and Cross-culturalResearch in Art Education.

Professor Garber was Fulbright
scholar at theUnivesity of Art and Design, Helsinki, in 2000, where she
studied craft education and taught two courses. Dr. Garber has been a member
of editorial boards and community organizations, and consultant to several
projects. Before becoming involved with art education, she was a ceramicist
and photographer living in the country and working at a sustainable life
style; before that, she was a student activist for Civil Rights, the environment,
and women's rights. |
