Ivey teaches Modern and Contemporary Art, Theory and Criticism. His research interests include Religion in the American Built Environment as well as contemporary theory. He is the author of 'Prayers in Stone: Christian Science Architecture in the United States 1894-1930.' He has lectured widely to scholarly audiences on Christian Science architecture, Outsider Art, and Theosophical communities and is finishing research and writing for a second book on the architecture of Theosophical communities in the United States.
