Lynn Beudert (formerly Galbraith), Ph.D. is Professor of Art and teaches within the Division of Art and Visual Culture Education, School of Art, University of Arizona. A native of England, her teaching and research interests focus on art teacher education, and specifically on preparing pre-service teachers, the lives of faculty art teacher educators, and international arts teacher education. She is also interested in issues related to care and social justice within visual art classrooms and other educational settings.
Lynn has published and presented nationally and internationally on art teacher education issues. Her recent book, "Work, Pedagogy and Change: Foundations for the Art Teacher Educator", was published in 2006. She has served as the Chair of the National Art Education Association's (NAEA) Research Commission and on the editorial board of "Studies in Art Education" and various other journals.
Lynn's awards include the NAEA's National Higher Education Art Educator of the Year Award and the NAEA's Pacific Region Higher Education Art Educator Award. She is also a recipient of the University of Arizona's College of Fine Arts Charles and Irene Putman Award for Excellence in Teaching. In 2009, she was honored as a NAEA Distinguished Fellow.
