The Museum Studies Certificate Program provides graduate students with scholarly and practical experience with museological history, theory, and practice. This certificate is not a standalone degree and is meant to be pursued in concert with a Masters or Masters of Fine Arts degree.
12 hours of graduate coursework in Museum Studies (at least one course is offered per semester in this area of study).
6 hours of an internship in which there is a substantial scholarly component.
The requirements for completion of the certificate program are in addition to the hours required for an MA/MFA, although 6 of the 12 hours of coursework in Museum Studies can be counted toward the hours for the MA/MFA.
