Ensemble Placement Auditions

Attention University of Arizona Tuba/Euphonium Players!

The excerpts which we are asking you to prepare for auditions in the fall of 2007 can be accessed at the UA band audition website. These excerpts will be for placement in the three major performing ensembles:

• The Arizona Symphony Orchestra
• The Wind Ensemble
• The Wind Symphony

Chair placement within the ensembles may change from concert to concert, and some of the ensemble assignments may change for the second semester. As of this writing, the Tuba/Euphonium auditions are tentatively scheduled to be held on Saturday afternoon, August 19, beginning at 11:15. Additional playing opportunities are the UA Philharmonic Orchestra and The Symphonic Band. And, if you think you have the time, I encourage you to become involved in a brass quintet. If, as you prepare for these auditions, you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I will do all I can to help you feel comfortable with these short excerpts. We are already eagerly anticipating the wonderful music-making we'll be involved in next fall - get ready for a great year!
